I was at a friends place yesterday, watching TV and drinking coffee. I was just shifting through channels when I stumbled upon DD. I was about to change when I was hit by a wave of nostalgia. Now I am not exactly old, but everything (Specialyll the Idiot Box) has changed so much in the past decade that it is kinda hard to comprehend that I have been through it.

For someone who grew up watching a lot of TV , my nostalgia is rightly associated with the changing face of the TV channels during this period.

I still fondly remember the “Good old days“, when DD was the only channel.

Ramayana, Mahabharat, Mowgli(I guess this is true for all of us..) Hum Log,Yehi hai zindagi, Karamchand and my personal favorite ,Vyomkesh Bakshi…The list is endless. Somehow these serials carried more charm than all the fancy shows on TV today.(Specifically, more than the “K” brigade.)

Whenever I see any of these I feel like I have gone back in time.

Those sunday mornings..waking up lazily to watch Mowgli; Mom making my favorite breakfast, Dad taking us out for a ride, My brother trying to teach me how to ride a bike…And I get lost in my own thoughts…. Silently wishing that I could go back….
